Unit Reflection

The past couple of weeks have been a great experience and I was able to further my education from freshman year, when we learnt simply about linear equations.  I have learnt a lot about solving different quadratic equations, solving complex trinomials and graphing parabolas. Learning about quadratics relationships is a skill everyone should process as parabolas are found in every day life. Teenagers often complain that learning quadratics is useless and their education will never be applied to a real life situation. But the truth is many professions such as architecture and construction use quadratics and some other professions also use parabolas. They can be observed in arched bridges, water fountains, curved ball flight paths, roller coasters, etc.

This unit has been enjoyable but it also required a lot of understanding. I had to continuously push myself to grasp certain topics and seek help if required.  The most important recommendation for sophomores learning quadratics is to always complete daily homework. Through my experience learning a new subject is simpler if it is continuously practiced. Hope you enjoyed my journey through learning about quadratic relationships and you found this site helpful!
